Network Engineer

A Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and securing an organization’s computer networks to ensure reliable connectivity, performance, and availability.

Job Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and support network hardware and software (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers).

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and security issues.

• Ensure network security through firewalls, IDS/IPS, access controls, and regular updates.

• Implement network upgrades, expansions, and optimization initiatives.

• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.

• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, switching).

• Hands-on experience with network devices (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Palo Alto).

• Understanding of network security principles and best practices.

• Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

• Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, or similar) is an advantage.

• Ability to read and create network diagrams and technical documentation.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.

• Relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, Network+, or equivalent).

• Experience in enterprise or large-scale network environments
