The Lifeguard is responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of all guests using the beach and pool facilities. This includes monitoring swimming areas, preventing accidents through vigilance, responding promptly to emergencies, and maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for guests. The role also involves enforcing safety rules, performing rescue and first aid procedures when necessary, and assisting with beach operations.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Monitor the safety of all guests and staff by maintaining continuous surveillance of the beach, pool, and surrounding areas.
- Enforce facility rules and regulations to prevent accidents and ensure safe guest conduct.
- Lead by example in maintaining professional behaviour, punctuality, and adherence to health and safety protocols
- Perform rescues promptly and administer first aid, CPR, or emergency care as required.
- Conduct routine inspections of lifeguard equipment, rescue gear, and first aid kits to ensure readiness.
- Monitor water quality and beach/pool conditions, reporting hazards or unsafe situations immediately Assist in guest relations by answering questions, providing safety information, and offering excellent service.
- Participate in regular training and drills to maintain high standards of fitness, rescue ability, and first aid skills
Skills
- Strong swimming and water rescue skills.
- Knowledge of first aid, CPR, and emergency response techniques.
- High level of physical fitness and stamina.
- Strong observation and quick decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and act effectively in emergency situations
Minimum 1 year of experience as a lifeguard in a hotel, resort, or recreational facility.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent. Certified Lifeguard qualification (valid license)
